Maple Creek, WI — A Maple Creek man was arrested Tuesday night after authorities say he held his boyfriend hostage inside their shared residence and demanded sexual intercourse during a domestic dispute.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office reports that 27-year-old Frederic Rosales barricaded the victim in a bedroom of their home for several hours, allegedly refusing to let him leave and coercing him for sexual contact. Deputies responded after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor who reported “yelling, crying, and banging noises” coming from the home.
According to investigators, the victim was eventually able to escape through a bathroom door and run to a neighboring house for help while Rosales was distracted. Responding deputies arrived within minutes and arrested Rosales without incident.
Officials say the victim suffered emotional distress but did not require hospitalization.
Rosales is currently being held at the Outagamie County Jail. He faces charges including false imprisonment, domestic abuse-related coercion, and disorderly conduct. A preliminary court hearing is scheduled later this week.
Sheriff Mark Henderson reminded residents that domestic violence can occur in any relationship.
“Abuse does not discriminate,” Henderson stated. “Whether it’s a same-sex or opposite-sex relationship, we respond and prosecute with the same seriousness. No one deserves to feel unsafe in their own home.”
Residents of the quiet rural town expressed shock over the incident, describing the neighborhood as “peaceful” and “close-knit.”
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone experiencing domestic violence in Outagamie County is encouraged to call the county crisis line at (920) 832-4646 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
