  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Brownie Batter:
    • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

    • In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Assemble the Brownies:
    • Pour about 2/3 of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
    • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter in the pan, spreading it evenly.
    • Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter on top of the cream cheese layer. Use a knife or a skewer to gently swirl the brownie batter and cream cheese mixture together to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
