A Waco man has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a male friend who had offered him a place to stay after a difficult night.
According to police, officers were called to an apartment in the 900 block of Wooded Acres around 1:40 a.m. on November 11. They met the victim and a female witness, who both reported that 27-year-old Adrian Rodriguez Gonzalez had come over asking to “crash on the couch” after saying he’d had a rough night with his boyfriend.
The victim told officers he was in the kitchen preparing dinner when Rodriguez approached him and tried to perform oral sex. He said he pushed Rodriguez away several times and told him to stop. Despite this, Rodriguez allegedly pulled down the victim’s sweatpants, grabbed his genitals, and continued the unwanted behavior. A female witness said she saw the victim pulling away while repeatedly telling Rodriguez “stop.”
Rodriguez later claimed the encounter was consensual. He said he and the victim had been hanging out and that the victim had been flirting with him and “teasing” him. Rodriguez told police the victim exposed himself and said “here it is,” insisting the victim was encouraging him to “kiss it,” describing the situation as “all in good fun and brotherly.”
Rodriguez is being held at the McLennan County Jail on an immigration detainer. A bond amount had not yet been posted, and even if he is able to bond out, the detainer may keep him in custody.
