Father Faces Backlash After Sharing Photos With Son Following OnlyFans Reveal

Date:

A British man who says he is among the top earners on OnlyFans is facing widespread backlash after publicly sharing photos with his adult son, who recently joined the same subscription-based platform.

Dean Byrne, who claims to be in the top 0.02% of earners on OnlyFans, said his 18-year-old son, Bray Byrne, made the independent decision to create his own account on the adult content site. Byrne said he chose to publicly acknowledge his son’s move rather than keep it hidden, posting photos of the two together on social media.

The posts quickly drew intense criticism online, with many users expressing discomfort over a parent publicly associating himself with his child’s participation in an adult platform. While no joint or explicit content between the two has been reported, critics argue that the public framing of their relationship in connection with OnlyFans crosses ethical and emotional boundaries.

Byrne defended his actions, stating that both he and his son are adults and operate separate accounts. He said his intention was to normalize open communication and remove stigma surrounding sex work, adding that secrecy would have been more harmful than transparency.

“My son made his own choice,” Byrne said in comments shared online. “I wasn’t going to shame him for it.”

Bray Byrne, who recently turned 18, said he understood the reaction but maintained that his decision was his own. He has stated that he is managing his account independently and is not collaborating with his father in any form.

OnlyFans’ policies allow family members to use the platform as long as all creators are verified adults and no prohibited content — including incest-related material — is produced. The company requires government-issued identification and age verification for all creators.

Still, the situation has reignited broader debates about boundaries, consent and the commercialization of intimacy online. Experts note that while the arrangement may not violate platform rules, public discomfort reflects unresolved cultural tensions around sex work and family roles.

As subscription-based creator platforms continue to grow, cases like this are likely to test the limits of public acceptance, raising questions not only about legality, but about ethics, responsibility and evolving social norms.
