Texas Man Arrested After Gun and Mask Found in Car Linked to Gas Station Robbery; Viral Mugshot Sparks Attention

Date:

WACO, Texas — A Waco man with a prior criminal history has been arrested again after police say a gun and ski mask found in his vehicle connected him to an armed robbery at a local gas station earlier this month. His latest booking photo has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread public attention.

Police arrested 26-year-old Dominic Greene on Nov. 19 after officers spotted his gray Dodge Durango illegally parked and detected the smell of marijuana coming from inside. When they approached, Greene was identified as the driver. A search of the SUV uncovered a black pistol and ski mask, items investigators say directly match those used during a Nov. 10 robbery at the Be’ur Mart on West Waco Drive.

According to the affidavit, surveillance footage showed a man resembling Greene enter the store minutes before the robbery without a mask. He returned moments later wearing a ski mask, pointed a handgun at employees, and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled in a gray Durango, the same model Greene was driving at the time of his arrest.

Detectives said several physical characteristics helped confirm Greene as the man in the footage, including distinct tattoos on his neck, forearms, and hands. A rosary tattoo on the suspect’s left hand — visible in the store’s surveillance video — matched the tattoo seen in Greene’s 2021 booking photos. Police added that Greene is “no stranger to the law,” having been arrested multiple times in previous years on unrelated charges.

Greene now faces two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana. His total bond was set at $128,000.

Investigators also noted that during the arrest, Greene attempted to pull away from officers and repeatedly insisted they had “nothing on him” before being restrained.

His most recent mugshot, released by authorities following the arrest, has since gone viral online — shared thousands of times across social platforms, generating both criticism and commentary about the case.

Police say the investigation is ongoing as they review additional evidence and interview witnesses. No injuries were reported during the gas station robbery.
