A North Georgia man is behind bars after deputies said he made threatening posts on social media that prompted an investigation.
According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, Jerry Warren was arrested after a concerned citizen reported a troubling post earlier this week.
Authorities said deputies began investigating the report Wednesday and determined the threats were serious. The post included statements about using a vehicle to harm others, according to investigators.
Officials also noted that Warren has an extensive criminal history involving violent acts and had an active probation warrant at the time of the incident.
Deputies obtained a warrant charging Warren with making terroristic threats and executed a search warrant at his home. He was arrested and booked into the Pickens County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
The sheriff’s office credited the citizen who reported the post, reminding the public to report suspicious or concerning behavior.
The investigation remains ongoing.
