SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida man was arrested after deputies say they encountered him wearing only G-string underwear and sneakers outside his vehicle in a Target parking lot Sunday night.
According to a police report cited by WKMG, a Seminole County deputy was dispatched to the parking lot after authorities received a report of a man outside a vehicle allegedly touching himself. When the deputy arrived, the man was identified as 41-year-old Nicholas Lydic.
Authorities said Lydic was wearing a G-string and sneakers at the time of the encounter. When questioned about why he was outside his vehicle with so little clothing on, Lydic reportedly told the deputy that he had gotten wet and was changing clothes.
The investigation did not end there. According to the report, the deputy searched Lydic’s vehicle and discovered a backpack containing women’s underwear along with sex toys. The published report does not provide additional details about who owned the items or why they were inside the vehicle.
Lydic was subsequently taken into custody and charged with indecent exposure. The charge is an allegation, and being arrested does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Authorities also noted that this was reportedly not Lydic’s first case involving similar conduct. According to the report, he was convicted in another Florida county last year of indecent exposure of sexual organs. No additional information about that previous case was included in the report.
The unusual arrest has since attracted attention online, in part because of where the encounter occurred and the circumstances described by authorities. The case was initially reported by WKMG and distributed through CNN Newsource before being published by WTVY on Sept. 10.
