Reality television personality Sidney Starr, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, was arrested Sunday in Hapeville, Georgia, and is facing multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged incident involving a juvenile, according to the Hapeville Police Department and Fulton County Jail records.
Authorities said the arrest followed an investigation at the Embassy Suites hotel on International Boulevard. Starr has been charged with aggravated child molestation, sexual battery against a child under the age of 16, and sodomy. As of Monday, Starr remained in custody at the Fulton County Jail while the case proceeds through the legal system.
Because the investigation involves a juvenile, Hapeville police have declined to release additional details about the allegations. The case has reportedly been turned over to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
According to multiple reports, Starr has denied the allegations. In a statement reported by Entertainment Weekly, she said she “unequivocally denies the allegations” and intends to vigorously defend herself through the legal process, emphasizing that allegations should not be mistaken for established facts.
Starr is known for appearances on reality television series including Love & Hip Hop: New York, Baddies ATL, and Baddies South, and has also appeared in television shows such as Empire, The Chi, and Boomerang.
The allegations have not been proven in court. Starr is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty, and additional information may be released as the criminal case moves forward.
