A Florida man is facing multiple felony charges after police say a sexual encounter escalated into a violent assault that left the victim injured and fleeing into the street for help.
According to investigators, 38-year-old Luis Alberto Negrin of West Miami was arrested following an incident that allegedly occurred during the early morning hours of June 28. Police responded to reports of a man crying and bleeding in the middle of a roadway, where officers found the alleged victim seeking assistance.
The victim told police he and Negrin had been drinking and smoking cigarettes together before engaging in consensual sex. During the encounter, however, the victim alleged that Negrin unexpectedly smeared feces on his face. When the victim became upset and confronted him, the situation reportedly turned violent.
Investigators say Negrin allegedly retrieved a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and threatened to kill him. The victim further claimed he was choked, punched repeatedly, and struck with the firearm during the assault. Despite his injuries, he was able to escape the residence and run into the street, where responding officers located him.
Police later arrested Negrin, who now faces felony charges that include aggravated assault with a firearm, battery by strangulation, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Authorities said the victim sustained visible injuries consistent with his account of the incident.
As of this writing, the allegations remain accusations, and Negrin is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
