A fitness content creator known as Manny says a frightening and confusing encounter unfolded outside his apartment after he returned home from the gym, prompting him to record the situation and warn others online.
In a tweet posted alongside the video, Manny wrote that the man had been sitting outside his door since he arrived home. He added, in an expression of fear and anger, that the situation could have escalated further had he reacted differently in the moment.
According to Manny, the incident began when he entered the apartment breezeway and noticed an unfamiliar man already there. As Manny walked to his door and began unlocking it, the man allegedly told him that he was “coming in.” Manny said he had never seen or met the individual before.
Alarmed, Manny said he closed his door. When he opened it again shortly afterward, the man was still sitting outside. Manny said this repeated several times, with the man remaining in the same position each time he checked.
After realizing the man was not leaving, Manny said he decided to start recording and told him directly that he needed to go. Even after Manny went inside and finished cooking, he said the man continued to linger outside his door.
The video captures Manny confronting the man and expressing disbelief over the situation. At one point, Manny can be heard saying that the behavior looked “crazy” and that the man did not belong there, repeatedly telling him to leave.
When the man allegedly moved closer, Manny reacted by spraying him with Lysol. In the recording, Manny can be heard yelling for him to go and calling the encounter “nasty,” accusing the man of sexual assault and warning that he could go to jail.
Manny later said the man eventually left the breezeway and headed toward the elevators, raising concerns that he could encounter someone else in the building. Manny stressed that there was no prior contact between them, no dating apps involved, and no previous interaction of any kind.
“I don’t know this man,” Manny emphasized, underscoring that the encounter was completely unprovoked.
The video has since sparked intense discussion online about personal safety in apartment buildings, how residents should respond to strangers who refuse to leave shared spaces, and the role of building security and management in preventing similar incidents. It remains unclear whether law enforcement or property management were notified following the encounter.
