A Georgia man was taken into custody following an investigation into a series of reported sexual misconduct incidents at multiple Dollar General stores across three counties in west Georgia.
Law enforcement officials say the suspect, later identified as Zani Kenneth Brown, was wanted for allegedly exposing himself and engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior inside several Dollar General locations in Douglas, Paulding, and Haralson counties.
According to authorities, multiple reports were filed over recent weeks from customers and employees who witnessed the suspect performing lewd acts inside the stores, sometimes near unsuspecting shoppers. The incidents drew concern from communities where the stores serve as everyday shopping destinations for families and residents.
Investigation and Arrest
Investigators with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and allied agencies analyzed surveillance footage from the affected stores, identifying both the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. Enhanced cooperation with neighboring law enforcement agencies helped pinpoint Brown’s whereabouts.
On Tuesday, members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Division arrested Brown at his home in Douglas County without incident. Law enforcement has not disclosed whether the suspect has an attorney or entered a plea.
Community Reaction and Ongoing Inquiry
Shoppers and local residents expressed relief at the arrest, with some saying they hoped the charges would carry serious consequences and prevent further incidents. Deputies emphasized that this investigation remains active, and they are reviewing additional reports to determine if other stores were targeted.
Authorities encourage anyone with information or who may have been affected by similar incidents to contact local law enforcement.
