A 32-year-old Detroit man is facing criminal charges after authorities say he exposed himself inside a Walmart store in Rochester Hills, Michigan—an incident that has raised concerns about shopper safety and the possibility of additional victims.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, identified as Bryan Deangelo May, was arrested after allegedly exposing and fondling himself in the women’s clothing department of the store on March 19. Investigators say May also followed a female shopper through the store during the incident.
Store employees alerted authorities, and deputies arrested May without incident while he was still inside the Walmart. Officials say the behavior was both targeted and deliberate, prompting a broader investigation into whether similar incidents may have occurred involving other victims.
May has been charged with aggravated indecent exposure, a high-level misdemeanor in Michigan that carries a potential penalty of up to two years in jail and fines. He is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court for further proceedings.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have encountered similar behavior or believes they may be a victim to come forward and contact the sheriff’s office. Law enforcement officials emphasized that incidents like this are taken seriously, particularly when they occur in public retail spaces.
“This is behavior that no one should have to endure while simply shopping,” officials said, noting that protecting public safety—especially in everyday environments like stores—is a top priority.
The case remains under investigation.
