Naked Man Arrested for Second Time After Causing Chaos at Wyoming Public Park

Date:

A 31-year-old man found himself back in police custody following a bizarre afternoon disturbance at a public park in Wyoming, where witnesses reported seeing him wandering completely naked, shouting at visitors and behaving erratically near a children’s playground.

Darren Mitchell was taken into custody after several concerned parkgoers contacted authorities to report a nude man running through the recreational area, approaching strangers and disrupting families who had gathered to enjoy the afternoon.

According to the account, Mitchell initially attracted attention when he walked through a crowded picnic area without clothing and began shouting incoherently at several people seated beneath a pavilion. Witnesses described him as appearing agitated, occasionally laughing to himself before abruptly becoming argumentative with people who attempted to speak to him.

The situation reportedly escalated when Mitchell approached a birthday celebration, interrupted a group taking photographs and attempted to climb onto a picnic table. Several parents quickly gathered their children and moved away as other visitors contacted police.

One witness described the scene as confusing, saying Mitchell appeared to be carrying on conversations with people who were not there. At one point, he allegedly stood near a trash can and began arguing with it before walking toward the playground.

Responding officers located Mitchell near a walking trail, where he initially refused repeated instructions to put on clothing. Authorities attempted to communicate with him for several minutes before taking him into custody without further confrontation.

The incident marked Mitchell’s second arrest. He was previously arrested in New Jersey, although details surrounding that earlier encounter with law enforcement, including the charges involved, were not immediately available.

Following his arrest, Mitchell was transported for a medical evaluation before being processed on allegations of public lewdness and disorderly conduct.

No physical injuries were reported, and authorities did not indicate that Mitchell had assaulted or directly threatened anyone during the disturbance.

The incident temporarily disrupted activities at the park, with several families leaving before officers cleared the area. Normal activity resumed shortly afterward.

The circumstances surrounding Mitchell’s behavior remain unclear, and no information was available regarding whether alcohol, drugs or an underlying medical condition contributed to the incident.
