A 21-year-old Indiana man is facing multiple criminal charges after authorities say he allegedly pulled a handgun on a group of teenagers following an altercation at a Wawa gas station in Westfield.
According to court documents, the incident began on June 2 when Alexander Price and two other men reportedly confronted several teenagers inside the convenience store. Investigators allege that tensions escalated after one of Price’s companions threw a granola bar at a 17-year-old, leading to a verbal dispute between the groups.
During the confrontation, one of the teens allegedly referred to Price as “cute,” a remark that authorities say appeared to upset him. The disagreement continued outside the store, where police claim Price and the other men blocked the teenagers’ vehicle in the parking lot before the teens left the area.
Authorities allege that Price and his companions then followed the teenagers as they drove away. During the pursuit, Price is accused of pointing a handgun at the teens, prompting one of the occupants to call 911 for help.
Police later conducted a felony traffic stop and took Price into custody without incident. According to investigators, officers recovered a handgun, marijuana, and drug-related paraphernalia from his vehicle during the stop.
Price has been charged with multiple offenses, including criminal confinement and intimidation with a deadly weapon. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The allegations remain accusations at this stage, and Price is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. The case is expected to proceed through the Indiana court system in the coming weeks.
