Dominique Morgan Calls Out Black Community: “You’re Worried About Kids Transitioning—But All of Your Sons Are Taking White Girls to Prom”

Date:

A viral video from trans activist Dominique Morgan is setting social media on fire after she delivered a blunt critique aimed squarely at what she sees as misplaced priorities within the Black community.

In the clip, Morgan questions why so much energy is spent debating whether young people are “too young” to understand their gender identity, while a different shift among Black youth goes largely unchallenged. Specifically, she pointed to a trend she says is hard to ignore—Black teenage boys overwhelmingly showing up to prom with white girls.

“I’m sitting here watching all of y’all Black sons go to prom with white girls,” Morgan said, making it clear her frustration isn’t subtle. Her argument centers on what she views as a contradiction: adults claiming teenagers aren’t mature enough to understand their own identity, yet accepting—or even celebrating—their romantic choices without question.

Morgan pushed the logic further, calling out what she described as selective reasoning. If people truly believe teens are too young to grasp gender or sexuality, she argued, then that same skepticism should apply to high school “love” as well. “Y’all said people don’t fall in love in high school,” she noted, reframing prom relationships as attraction rather than something deeper.

But the moment that’s really fueling debate came when Morgan tied the issue to cultural representation. Referencing classic staples like Jet magazine and Essence, she suggested that the visibility of Black beauty and Black women in media has declined, possibly influencing how young Black men form their preferences.

Her comments quickly split audiences. Some viewers are backing her, saying she’s highlighting a real and uncomfortable pattern about representation, desirability, and who gets centered. Others argue she’s conflating unrelated issues—mixing conversations about race, dating, and gender identity in a way that oversimplifies all three.

Still, the core of her message is what’s driving engagement: a challenge to consistency. Morgan isn’t just questioning individual choices—she’s questioning the standards used to judge them.

And whether people agree or not, one thing is clear: the conversation she sparked isn’t going away anytime soon.
